Relay Team Information15 January 2008See more on Relay Team Info and drink stations around the circuit Last year about 25% of the field was relay teams, with the most popular category being 2-person. Each of the 4 legs is approximately 40 km, and you will see from the course profile (to be posted by this Friday) that your stronger team members should ride legs 1 and 3, with the "easier" legs being 2 and 4. Each team member should ride into the changeover lane (and across the timing mat) before removing their timing chip and handing on to their team mate. The timing chip acts as the relay baton. Drink stations will also be placed at each relay changeover point. There will be water at the 40km, and Leppin and Water at 80km and 120km. The aid stations are self-help. For those riding the entire distance, you may have an assistant pass you a bottle and/or food, but this may only be done by a person standing on the roadside. Best done at the start of a climb or on the crest of a hill. More news to follow.... |
