Top Kiwi Cyclists join the field20 January 2009NZ Women's rep Toni Bradshaw and top male Aaron Strong will take the start at the 2009 2XU Ruapehu Cycle Classic Following on from last year, a number of top cyclists are making a weekend of it in the Central North Island town of Ohakune, and will take on a lap of Tongariro National Park in the process. Top NZ Women's rep Toni Bradshaw will provide the strongest challenge yet in the women's field, following on from her strong showing at the NZ Elite Road Cycling Nationals in Te Awamutu 10 days ago. The current men's favourite is last years second place getter Aaron Strong, with Wellington's Silas Cullen expected to keep the pace honest. Entries are well ahead of last year, and promise to see the biggest every field take on the lap of the mountain in just over a fortnight's time. With every competitor in a weekly draw to $100 of performance sports apparel for 2XU, this week's winner is Guy Tarrant of Grey Lynn in Auckland. Congratulations!
