All set to go for Merida Bikes Ruapehu Cycle Classic 2008

7 February 2008

With two days to go until the Merida Bikes Ruapehu Cycle Classic, online entries are now closed and the event team are preparing for the race....

Online entries were closed off earlier today, with over 400 cyclists registered to do the 160km lap of Tongariro National Park on Saturday.

With preparations now well under way, competitors can expect an expo style display from Friday afternoon including Merida Bikes (thanks to Auckland's Bike Albany), Limar Helmets, a large selection of cycling parts and accessories plus Oxygen Eyewear, Leppin Sport nutrition and Orca clothing.

Registration is open from 5pm - 9pm on Friday night, and any late entries will be taken at that time.

At this stage the weather is looking good, and with the forecast for 'light and variable' winds with fine weather through the Tongariro National Park, it promises to be a great weekend in Ohakune!
